Cornwall & Isles of Scilly NHS Climate Collaboration

We work alongside our NHS colleagues from Cornwall and Isles of Scilly ICB, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust together with colleagues from the southwest and nationally from Greener NHS, sharing best practice and all working together to deliver our Green Plan.

Cornwall Greener Practice

We support our local Greener Practice Network, a group of passionate clinicians in Cornwall who are making the links between human health, planetary health; community and statutory sectors; physical and mental health; primary and secondary care; climate and nature; local and national.

Green Impact & Greener Pharmacy Toolkit Tune-ups

A local network of primary care clinicians and practitioners who have adopted the Green Impact Toolkit (for General Practice and Dentistry) or Greener Pharmacy (for pharmacists), who come together for help and support across the county to tune up their tool kits and work towards the next award!

A bunch of carrots.

WellFed Network

The WellFed network is a growing alliance of progressive health professionals, community food growers, and voluntary sector partners working to align the health and food systems. Its goal is to shift from a sickness-treatment model to one focused on health creation and disease prevention by connecting people with food that supports human, planetary, and community well-being.

The network promotes collaboration and shared learning across healthcare, local support services, third sector organisations, and community growers. It is open to anyone committed to improving health and resilience through nutritious, sustainably grown food that benefits people, the planet, and local communities.

String of Green Pearls

A local network of health and care organisations inspired to nurture their outside spaces into their very own a green pearl. These green spaces provide rest and respite for nature, patients and staff and improve community connection. Many have edible or sensory plants that encourage pollinators and nature connection as well as aid nature recovery and water management. Small pots of funding have supported many practices to grow their outside spaces into green pearls.

Bright Ideas

We have been working with Community Energy Plus, a local charity in Cornwall to support primary care practices with low-cost energy audits. These audits have highlighted ways to reduce emissions from energy use and best practice, also identifying financial savings that can be made by following recommendations.

Good Move

Movement is good for us; it’s also something that is being ‘designed out’ of our lives and therefore happening less. We’re here to help design it back in and help patients and staff benefit from this wonder drug! There are so many ways to make small changes to what we do and how we do it that will encourage this change: please join us to see what primary care is doing and how you can follow their lead!

Waste Watchers

Join the waste and recycling geeks that love to go through the bins! Primary care produces a lot of waste and we’re working together to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible. Topics so far include waste audits, dressings packs waste, inhaler recycling, composting and reusable items. We don’t have all the answers, so we have fun sharing good practice and raising awareness. Meetings are held online every other month. Get in Touch to receive invites. View the previous meetings in the Resource Library:
